We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at Paul Drude Institut Berlin. The successful candidate will work on a cutting-edge project focused on computational materials science, with a specific emphasis on the computational synthesis and characterization of metal oxides grown by hybrid molecular beam epitaxy.
The project aims to advance our understanding of H-MBE and its application to metal oxides through sophisticated computational modeling techniques. The researcher will be responsible for developing and applying computational models, including Density Functional Theory (DFT) methods and ReaxFF force fields, to identify optimal precursor chemistries and improve the quality of metal oxides fabricated via H-MBE.
The researcher will also investigate the nucleation and growth dynamics of metal oxides to establish detailed links between synthesis parameters and material morphologies. Additionally, they will utilize computational insights to fine-tune the composition and structure of metal oxides, boosting their performance in diverse applications.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with experts in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, and Mathematics to develop and refine tools and models, advancing H-MBE technology and material science.
