Finance Manager, Accounting

Amazon's Munich office is seeking an experienced Finance Manager, Accounting to drive mission-critical financial operations and contribute to the company's success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee national and international accounting projects, collaborating with Tax and Legal departments.
  • Participate in worldwide business partnering, ensuring seamless integration of new regions into existing processes.
  • Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing of financial books, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Assess and evaluate GAAP to GAAP differences, driving improvements in accounting processes and internal workflows.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of US-GAAP or IFRS and any other local GAAP.
  • Several years of experience in accounting and financial reporting, preferably in a Big Four firm or multinational organization.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluent English.
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel User.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, creating/implementing an escalation plan.
  • Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification.
  • Demonstrated history of solving multiple and complex accounting and/or financial reporting challenges.
