Are you a finance and accounting expert looking for a challenging and rewarding role? Amazon's Munich office is seeking a talented Finance Manager, Accounting to join our team and drive mission-critical financial operations.

About the Role

In this strategic position, you will be responsible for overseeing key aspects of accounting, compliance, and financial controls. Your expertise and leadership skills will be instrumental in ensuring the highest standards of financial integrity and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive and participate in national and international accounting projects
  • Collaborate with Tax and Legal departments to ensure compliance and best practices
  • Integrate new regions into existing processes to drive efficiency and growth
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing of financial books
  • Assess and evaluate GAAP to GAAP differences to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Drive improvements in accounting processes and internal workflows to enhance productivity and efficiency

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • Strong knowledge of US-GAAP or IFRS and local GAAP
  • Several years of experience in accounting and financial reporting, preferably in a Big Four firm or multinational organization
  • Excellent communication skills with fluent English
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel user
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data and creating/implementing an escalation plan
  • Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
  • Demonstrated history of solving multiple and complex accounting and/or financial reporting challenges
