About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Business Continuity Specialist to join our team at METRO GROUP. As a key member of our Cyber Security team, you will play a critical role in developing and strengthening our entire department and transforming our cybersecurity capabilities on a global scale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support METRO entities in developing, implementing, and maintaining strategies, plans, and procedures to ensure the continuity of our IT services and business operations.
  • Collaborate closely with various stakeholders across the organization to identify risks, assess impacts, and develop resilience measures to safeguard our critical assets and operations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Establish recovery objectives, strategies, and priorities for IT services and business operations.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to support them in designing and implementing resilient architectures, redundancy measures, and failover mechanisms.
  • Establish and oversee testing, training, and exercising programs to validate the effectiveness of IT BC/SC plans and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to incident response teams during crisis situations.
  • Monitor and analyze emerging threats, trends, and regulatory requirements related to IT BC/SC, and recommend proactive measures to enhance resilience and compliance.
  • Prepare and present reports, metrics, and recommendations to senior management to facilitate informed decision-making and investment in IT BC/SC initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or Auditor, CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional) or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • 5+ years proven experience in IT Business Continuity Management (BCM), Disaster Recovery (DR), or Service Continuity (SC) roles, preferably in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 22301
  • Proficiency in BC/SC planning tools, risk assessment methodologies, and incident management platforms.
  • Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, and applications, including cloud technologies, virtualization, and network security.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks, analyze impacts, and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and lead multidisciplinary teams in crisis situations.

Please note that all job opportunities at METRO AG require that you live in/move to Germany and can be in office in Düsseldorf at least 2 times per week. We don't offer 100% remote opportunities. We support candidates with their VISA-Application and international relocation.
