Senior Legal Counsel DACH

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a critical role in providing legal advice and guidance to our DACH Hub (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Main Responsibilities- Strategic Advisor: Provide trusted and dedicated senior legal advice to the Hub, aligning with business leaders and coordinating with other legal counsels in the EMEA region on a wide range of legal, compliance, and governance matters.
- Compliance Expert: Ensure policies and applicable laws and regulations are monitored and communicated to secure sustainable business, manage litigations and investigations in local markets, and provide training on compliance matters.
- Agreement Manager: Draft and review agreements, including project documentation, standard agreements, and legal matters, ensuring alignment with outside counsels and securing the interests of local organizations within budget.
- Training and Coaching: Provide training and coaching on compliance topics, including the Business Conduct Manual and Anti-Bribery policies, and own the handling of non-compliance issues in close alignment with the Legal Directors.
- Collaboration and Leadership: Ensure proper collaboration with other legal team members of the EMEA region, align on main goals with relevant business leaders, and act as a mentor and point of contact for other Legal Team members.
- Education: Degree in Civil Law from a University in EMEA, admitted to practice law in an EMEA jurisdiction.
- Experience: 10 years post-qualification experience as an attorney and legal counsel in a business environment, with experience and knowledge of company, commercial, litigation, regulatory, financial, data privacy/GDPR, and labor law.
- Skills: Instill confidence, build effective relationships, manage competing priorities effectively, sound commercial and business judgment, ability to take decisions and face challenges in cooperation with executive management, and excellent organization skills.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English and German, with other languages considered a plus.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding or interest in the tire or automotive industry, international exposure, matrix organization, and dual reporting.
