Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Actuary / Mathematician / Property Casualty Specialist to join our team at Hannover Re. As a key member of our Technical Underwriting team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing data-driven solutions to optimize underwriting processes and improve risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement data analytics models to automate underwriting processes and improve decision-making
- Develop and maintain complex data analyses to optimize claims data and portfolio performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish suitable quotation parameters and develop tools for motor third-party liability reinsurance analysis
- Support the development of well-founded tools for motor TPL analysis and NatCat risk assessment
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data analytics and actuarial science
Requirements
- Master's degree in mathematics, physics, or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience in the (re)insurance industry, preferably with a focus on property and casualty insurance
- Strong programming skills in R or Python, with experience in data analytics and machine learning
- Actuarial training or certification, or a strong interest in pursuing such training
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in German and English
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
