Data Analyst in Property Casualty Insurance

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Actuary / Mathematician / Property Casualty to enhance our Technical Underwriting team at Hannover Re. This is a permanent position where you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to our operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Streamlining underwriting workflows and innovating AI-driven applications for underwriting processes.
  • Enhancing data analysis methodologies for claims evaluation.
  • Conducting comprehensive portfolio assessments and determining optimal quotation metrics.
  • Assisting in the management of external data repositories and refining analytical tools for motor third-party liability reinsurance.
  • Developing and advancing robust tools for motor TPL analysis and, when necessary, for NatCat risk evaluations.

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in (business) mathematics, physics, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience within the (re)insurance sector, particularly in property and casualty insurance.
  • Proficient in data analytics with programming expertise in R or Python.
  • Actuarial training or a strong interest in pursuing such qualifications.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in German and at least conversational proficiency in English.
  • Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • An international perspective and readiness for occasional business travel, approximately three to four times a year.
