Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Strategist to join our team at BioTalent. As an Indirect Category Manager, you will play a key role in driving strategic initiatives for sourcing indirect categories, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for innovation and value creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies for designated categories, focusing on setting the right supply base and negotiating contracts to achieve cost reduction initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for innovation and value creation within the company, while maintaining a total cost ownership (TCO) perspective.
- Lead efforts to assess and mitigate the impact of cost reduction initiatives on other steps in the value chain, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Manage supplier relationships and performance, both domestically and internationally, with a supply base primarily located in Central Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
- Drive operational excellence within the procurement function, transitioning towards a more strategic approach and enhancing collaboration across the organization.
Requirements
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in developing sourcing strategies to achieve cost reduction targets.
- Familiarity with operational procurement processes and willingness to drive change towards a more strategic operating model.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization, collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to speak German (intermediate level) and English, with proficiency in internal documentation and standard operating procedures (SOP's).
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (10-20% of the time) to production sites and suppliers.
