Job Summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Project Manager to lead our team in delivering exceptional electrical and technology applications services. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex electrical and technology projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple task orders with budgets ranging from $500K to $10M, overseeing a team of 20-30 personnel, specialty trade partners, and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Lead design-build task orders, including electrical, normal and emergency power, electronic security systems, CCTV, access control, A/V, telecommunications, ISP/OSP, wireless, and other technology applications, ensuring design efficiency and contractual compliance.
  • Develop and implement project schedules, resource plans, and budgets, ensuring timely completion and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with construction superintendents to develop installation execution plans, determine labor requirements, and dispatch tradesmen to construction sites.
  • Plan, organize, and direct activities related to the upgrade and renovation of existing facilities in an operating environment, responsible for design, installation, testing, and start-up activities.
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients, ensuring clear communication and understanding.
  • Negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with customers, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Work directly with supervisors to direct engineering, construction, testing, and commissioning activities, coordinating with field personnel and/or engineering teams to discuss potential installation issues.
  • Monitor project budgets to ensure positive cash flow and maintain profitability, inspecting and reviewing projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
  • Interface with internal and external customers, suggesting process improvements and cost-saving measures, and planning and obtaining permits, badges, and access requests in advance.
  • Work with site superintendents to plan and maintain manpower forecasts in relation to budget and schedule, and plan and actively track work to ensure compliance with project schedule and budget.
  • Prepare and lead project kickoff meetings, gate checks, and monthly key project reporting, maintaining organized and detailed project records, and providing customers with weekly project status and schedule updates.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in electrical and technology applications, with at least 5 years in project management, responsible for budget, schedule, and delivery.
  • Experience working with management systems, including estimating, scheduling, and job cost reporting, and operational risk management, with knowledge of safety and quality control requirements.
  • Proficiency in reading drawings, schematics, and interpreting and understanding statements of work (SOW) to develop cost proposals and execution plans, and proficiency in the Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling method and General Contractor Schedules.
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance and relocate to customer sites for the duration of the project.
  • US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.
