Job Summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a skilled Electrical Project Manager to lead our team in delivering high-quality electrical and technology applications projects. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for managing multiple task orders, leading design-build teams, and ensuring design efficiency and contractual compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple task orders with values ranging from $500K to $10M, overseeing engineering and management staff, specialty trade partners, and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Lead design-build teams in electrical, normal and emergency power, electronic security systems, CCTV, access control, A/V, telecommunications, ISP/OSP, wireless, and other technology applications.
  • Develop and implement project schedules, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.
  • Collaborate with construction superintendents to develop installation execution plans, determine labor requirements, and dispatch tradesmen to construction sites.
  • Plan, organize, and direct activities related to the upgrade and renovation of existing facilities, ensuring design, installation, testing, and start-up activities are completed efficiently.
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients.
  • Negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with customers, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Work directly with supervisors to direct engineering, construction, testing, and commissioning activities, coordinating with field personnel and/or engineering teams to discuss potential installation issues.
  • Monitor project budgets to ensure positive cash flow and maintain profitability.
  • Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
  • Interface with internal and external customers, ensuring excellent communication and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years of experience in leading Federal programs with a focus on technology applications.
  • ABET-accredited, Construction Management, or Business Management degree, and relevant field experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, tact, and ability to work directly with customers and internal senior management, supervisory personnel, trade partners, and design professionals.
  • Ability to proactively identify and resolve business, technical, and construction issues, including technical and design issues, operational challenges, work procedures, and potential customer concerns and complaints.
  • Proven experience in effectively managing multiple projects, including cost estimating, engineering, contract administration, subcontract management, claim negotiations, project controls, finance, installation, and installation supervision.
