Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and diversifying business to increase income and ensure the future growth of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements, developing and negotiating contracts, and integrating contract requirements with business operations.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Enhances organization's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.
- Plans and oversees new marketing initiatives.
- Increases the value of current customers while attracting new ones.
- Finds and develops new markets and improves sales.
- Attends conferences, meetings, and industry events.
- Develops quotes and proposals for clients.
- Trains personnel and helps team members develop their skills.
- Demand creation - Uses experience in the electronic components industry to define critical markets and new customers in the assigned sales territory.
- Promotes and sells the Value Add, Supply Chain, and Full Life Cycle programs offered by BTC Electronic Components.
- Plans sales strategy and develops key internal and external relationships to ensure a strong foundation for solution selling.
- Establishes and fosters relationships with customers to win design opportunities and deal with existing business challenges.
- Ensures customer satisfaction related to supply chain management and other value-added services.
- Develops strategic plans for all assigned accounts, selling, and marketing the full set of BTC Electronic Components offerings incorporating in-depth knowledge of BTC Electronic Components' key supplier lines, such as: Glenair, Amphenol, TE, Souriau/Sunbank, Leach.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree preferred, plus 3-5 years field sales experience.
- Experience in sales, marketing, or related field.
- Experience interacting with vendors and customers in a technical and engineering environment.
- Experience preparing comprehensive internal quarterly business reviews (iQBR), presenting strategic plans and implementation steps to grow sales, demand creation, and improve customer service, and ability to lead regular QBRs with major customers that unlock additional sales opportunities.
- Proficiency in sales tracking systems, Oracle.
- Strong communication skills and IT fluency.
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Mil/Aero experience a must.
- Current or recent industry experience and knowledge of the assigned market/territory, customers, competition.
- Experience selling value add, supply chain, and full life cycle services.
- Experience developing sales strategy.
- Proven ability to articulate complex strategies and able to execute on them.
- In-depth understanding of pricing programs and models within the electronics industry.
