We are on a mission to revolutionize access to personalized education at acemate. Our AI-powered learning platform transforms documents into interactive exams, mind maps, and more, providing university students with a tailored learning experience and real-time feedback. We also help educators streamline content creation and enhance engagement, partnering with leading German universities – including TU Munich, RWTH Aachen, and TU Berlin.

About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the technology and direction of our company as a Founding Full-Stack Engineer. You will work closely with our CTO Jan and CPO Paul to scale our product from the ground up, treated as a core team member from day one with corresponding incentives.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining features for our core product using Next.js
  • Optimizing and enhancing our AI toolchain to improve output quality
  • Analyzing performance to identify bottlenecks and areas for optimization
  • Contributing innovative ideas and leading the development of new features and improvements
  • Improving UX/UI design using Tailwind

Some of the past projects you would contribute to include:

  • Enhancing the onboarding flow to increase retention
  • Implementing multi-tab/-window functionality with Drag and Drop
  • Building a RAG - Toolchain with generative UI elements for our chatbot
  • Overhauling mind maps by switching to a more robust framework
Requirements

We are seeking highly motivated and skilled professionals with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Ideal 2+ years of software development experience (open to juniors)
  • Strong background in Next.js (or at least React)
  • High level of ownership and superb problem-solving skills
  • Fluent in either English or German

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with Tailwind CSS, PostgreSQL/Supabase, gen-AI applications (esp. Vercel AI SDK), UI/UX, web analytics tools, and testing frameworks
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and experience in a startup environment
  • Background in Machine Learning/AI
