At Amazon Development Center Germany GmbH, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Development Engineer to join our team in shaping the next generation of delivery technology. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that leverage innovative technologies to transform the delivery experience for our customers.

Our team is responsible for developing the technology, productizing the solution, operating, and supporting the lifecycle of the products and services we deploy. We are inventing the next-generation smart warehouse and smart delivery operation with cutting-edge technologies that encompass wearable, robotics, machine learning, and more. As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will be part of the center of competency for embedded, mobile, wearable devices, sensors, and end-to-end sensing and analytics.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Designing and developing low-latency, real-time applications in constrained environments on the edge
  • Developing computer vision, camera systems, and other IoT edge devices
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to articulate and champion the product, vision, and development timeline
  • Leveraging knowledge, experience, and network to deliver technology, solutions, and maximize the long-term potential of each individual engineer

Requirements

- 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on mobile applications
- Expert knowledge of Java and the JDK, as well as Android Developers Kit
- Experience contributing to the architecture and design of new and current systems
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience

Preferred qualifications include experience in mobile web app development in JavaScript/React, embedded software development, and building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
