Professorship (W2) in Theoretical Quantum Many-Body Physics: Condensed Matter and Quantum Optics

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research in the field of theoretical quantum many-body physics, with a focus on condensed matter and quantum optics. The research work will involve the theoretical description of condensed matter systems and/or quantum optical systems, with a strong emphasis on contributing to the Cluster of Excellence Matter and Light for Quantum Computing (ML4Q).
The professorship will also involve teaching and academic governance. The successful candidate will be expected to teach lecture courses and seminars on all levels of the courses of study in German and in English, and to participate in academic self-governance. The formal requirements for the position are regulated by 36 HG NRW.
