We are seeking a highly motivated and talented student to join our research team at the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) in Cologne. As a student researcher, you will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project in the field of quantum simulation, developing new methods for simulating molecular dynamics on quantum computers.
About the ProjectThe project focuses on the implementation of hybrid algorithms for simulating molecular dynamics, where the nuclear structure is treated classically and the electronic structure is propagated on a quantum computer. You will work closely with our team of experts in quantum simulation and classical simulation of non-adiabatic molecular dynamics to develop and test new approaches.
Your Responsibilities- Implement hybrid algorithms for simulating molecular dynamics
- Develop and test new approaches for simulating molecular dynamics on quantum computers
- Collaborate with our team of experts in quantum simulation and classical simulation
- Contribute to the development of new methods for simulating molecular dynamics
- Ongoing Master studies in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Chemistry
- Familiarity with the use of Python
- Extensive knowledge in the field of quantum mechanics
- Basic knowledge of quantum computers is beneficial but not necessary
- Knowledge of German and very good knowledge of written and spoken English
