We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled researcher to join our team at the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) in Cologne. As a Student (m/d/f) in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics or similar, you will have the opportunity to work on a Master Thesis project focused on Theoretical Methods for Hybrid Quantum Simulation of non-Adiabatic Molecular Dynamics.
Key Responsibilities- Implement hybrid algorithms for the simulation of molecular dynamics, considering the nuclear structure classically and the electronic structure on a quantum computer.
- Develop and test new and innovative approaches for simulating dynamic processes, comparing them with existing methods.
- Collaborate with a physicist and a chemical engineer to ensure the successful completion of the thesis.
- Ongoing Master studies in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics or Chemistry.
- Familiarity with Python programming language.
- Extensive knowledge in quantum mechanics.
- Basic knowledge of quantum computers is beneficial but not necessary.
- Knowledge of German and very good knowledge of written and spoken English.
