About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled researcher to join our team at the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) in Cologne. As a Quantum Computing Researcher, you will be working on the development of hybrid algorithms for the simulation of molecular dynamics, leveraging the power of quantum computing to advance our understanding of complex systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement hybrid algorithms for the simulation of molecular dynamics, combining classical and quantum mechanics
  • Develop and test new methods for fermion-to-qubit mappings and lattice encodings
  • Collaborate with a physicist and a chemical engineer to supervise and advise on the project
  • Contribute to the development of innovative solutions for the simulation of dynamic processes
Requirements
  • Ongoing Master studies in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Chemistry
  • Extensive knowledge in the field of quantum mechanics and quantum computing
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with quantum computing frameworks
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Security clearance as well as the willingness to undergo security clearance pursuant to §§ 8 ff. Security Clearance Act (SÜG)
