Position Overview

Valiant Integrated Services is in search of a Battlespace Simulation Engineer to deliver expert technical preparation, operation, and upkeep of sophisticated distributed computer-based intelligence simulations aimed at enhancing military training and related activities. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including system administration, operating system and application management, database development, testing, integration, and software maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver intelligence simulation support and develop planning products, which include architecture designs, technical documentation, and data analysis for military training exercises.
  • Oversee all aspects of Battlespace Engineering simulation system hardware and software, ensuring optimal performance of servers, networks, and workstations.
  • Manage technical operations related to Battlespace Engineering systems, including setup, teardown, and the maintenance of accreditation documentation.
  • Install, manage, and maintain current and future Battlespace Engineering models.
  • Assist in troubleshooting the Distributed Interaction Simulation (DIS) network and ensure all Information Assurance security updates are applied.
  • Collaborate with various sites to provide distributed simulation support as necessary.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all on-site models, systems, and supporting hardware/software.
  • Act as a liaison for exercise planning activities and provide After Action Review (AAR) products as needed.

Position Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience, or an associate degree with 7 years of relevant experience, or a major certification with 7 years of relevant experience, or 11 years of relevant experience.
  • An active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with the capability to pass a CI/Polygraph examination.
  • Proficient understanding of Linux commands, experience with Red Hat Linux OS and Windows 10 OS, VMware applications, and familiarity with SQL*Plus, Perl, HTML, JavaScript, Bash, Cold Fusion, and CSS.
  • Possession of IAT Level II certification per DoD 8570 (CompTIA Security+).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in configuring, operating, administering, troubleshooting, and maintaining various simulations and communications software.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Joint Simulation Protocol Analyzer (JSPA) software, including filter configuration and log file playback.
  • Experience with system and/or network administration and troubleshooting in a multi-enclave environment.
  • Familiarity with implementing information assurance measures in compliance with RMF/STIs regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to document and update processes effectively.
  • Capability to work under deadlines and manage tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
