Position Overview

Valiant Integrated Services is in search of a Battlespace Simulation Engineer who will be responsible for the technical setup, operation, and upkeep of sophisticated distributed computer-based intelligence simulations tailored for military training and various operational events. The role encompasses system administration, application management, database construction, testing, integration, and software maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver intelligence simulation support and planning materials, which include architecture designs, technical documentation, and data analysis for military training exercises.
  • Oversee all aspects of the Battlespace Engineering simulation system hardware and software, including servers, networks, and workstations.
  • Manage the technical operations, setup, dismantling, and accreditation documentation of the Battlespace Engineering systems.
  • Install, manage, and maintain current and future Battlespace Engineering models.
  • Assist in troubleshooting the Distributed Interaction Simulation (DIS) network.
  • Implement all Information Assurance security updates and anti-virus signature updates.
  • Collaborate with associated sites to provide distributed simulation support as necessary.
  • Ensure all on-site models, systems, and supporting hardware/software are up to date.
  • Act as a liaison for exercise planning activities.
  • Provide After Action Review (AAR) products as needed.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • A bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of relevant experience, or an associate degree plus 7 years of relevant experience, or a major certification plus 7 years of relevant experience, or 11 years of relevant experience.
  • An active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with the capability to pass a CI/Polygraph examination.
  • A foundational understanding of Linux commands, proficiency in Red Hat Linux OS and Windows 10 OS, VMware applications, and familiarity with SQL*Plus, Perl, HTML, JavaScript, Bash, Cold Fusion, and CSS.
  • IAT Level II certification as per DoD 8570 (CompTIA Security+).

Desired:

  • Experience in configuring, operating, administering, troubleshooting, and maintaining various simulations and communication software.
  • Familiarity with Joint Simulation Protocol Analyzer (JSPA) software.
  • Knowledge of BIOS and RAID configurations for troubleshooting.
  • Experience in system and/or network administration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in a multi-enclave environment with access to sensitive data.
  • Understanding of information assurance measures in compliance with RMF/STIs regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to document and update processes effectively.
  • Capability to work under deadlines and manage tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
