Position Overview

Valiant Integrated Services is in search of a Battlespace Simulation Engineer to deliver technical expertise in the preparation, operation, and upkeep of sophisticated distributed computer-based intelligence simulations aimed at enhancing military training and related activities. The role encompasses system administration, management of software and operating systems, as well as database construction, testing, and integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive intelligence simulation support and develop planning products, including architecture designs and data assessments, for military training exercises.
  • Oversee all aspects of the Battlespace Engineering simulation system, including hardware and software management.
  • Ensure the technical operations, setup, and accreditation of Battlespace Engineering systems and associated technologies.
  • Install, manage, and maintain both current and future Battlespace Engineering models.
  • Assist in troubleshooting the Distributed Interaction Simulation (DIS) network.
  • Implement all necessary Information Assurance security updates and anti-virus measures.
  • Collaborate with various sites to provide distributed simulation support as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all on-site models, systems, and supporting hardware/software.
  • Act as a liaison for exercise planning activities.
  • Generate After Action Review (AAR) products as required.

Position Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or an associate degree with 7 years of experience, or a major certification with 7 years of experience, or 11 years of relevant experience.
  • An active Top Secret/SCI security clearance and the ability to pass a CI/Polygraph examination.
  • Proficient understanding of Linux commands, experience with Red Hat Linux OS and Windows 10 OS, and familiarity with VMware applications and SQL*Plus, Perl, HTML, JavaScript, Bash, Cold Fusion, and CSS.
  • Possession of IAT Level II certification as per DoD 8570 (CompTIA Security+).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in configuring, operating, and maintaining various simulations and communication software.
  • Familiarity with Joint Simulation Protocol Analyzer (JSPA) software.
  • Knowledge of BIOS and RAID configurations for troubleshooting.
  • Experience in system and network administration.
  • Ability to work in a multi-enclave environment with sensitive data.
  • Understanding of information assurance measures in compliance with RMF/STIs regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent documentation and process updating abilities.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and collaborate with senior leaders.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work at a computer terminal for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts as required.
