Position Overview
Valiant Integrated Services is in search of a skilled Battlespace Simulation Engineer responsible for the technical setup, operation, and upkeep of sophisticated distributed computer-based intelligence simulations that support military training and various operational events. The role encompasses system administration, management of software applications, and the integration of databases, ensuring the smooth functioning of simulation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive intelligence simulation support and develop planning products, including architecture designs and data evaluations for military training exercises.
- Oversee all aspects of Battlespace Engineering simulation system hardware and software, including servers and networks.
- Manage technical operations related to Battlespace Engineering systems, including setup, teardown, and documentation of accreditation artifacts.
- Install, administer, and maintain current and future simulation models.
- Assist in troubleshooting the Distributed Interaction Simulation (DIS) network.
- Implement all necessary Information Assurance security updates and antivirus measures.
- Collaborate with various sites to provide distributed simulation support as needed.
- Ensure all on-site models and systems are current and operational.
- Act as a liaison for exercise planning activities.
- Generate After Action Review (AAR) products as required.
Qualifications:
Required:
- A bachelor’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience, or an associate degree with 7 years of experience, or a major certification with 7 years of experience, or 11 years of relevant experience.
- An active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with the capability to pass a CI/Polygraph examination.
- Proficient understanding of Linux commands, experience with Red Hat Linux OS and Windows 10 OS, and familiarity with various programming languages and tools.
- Certification at IAT Level II per DoD 8570 (CompTIA Security+).
Desired:
- Experience in configuring and maintaining simulation and communication software.
- Knowledge of Joint Simulation Protocol Analyzer (JSPA) software.
- Familiarity with BIOS and RAID configurations for troubleshooting.
- Experience in system and network administration.
- Background in handling sensitive data in a multi-enclave environment.
- Understanding of information assurance measures and patch management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent documentation and process updating abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under deadlines and with senior leaders.
- High attention to detail and the capacity to work at a computer terminal for extended periods.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including 12-hour shifts.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and interpersonal.
