We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Forestry Specialist to join our team at Ocell GmbH. As a functional expert, you will be the point of contact for other teams and stakeholders when forestry professional expertise is required.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and mentor the Forestry Specialist sub-team, providing guidance and support throughout the delivery process of Climate Projects.
- Collaborate with the partner management team to ensure seamless customer handovers, sales pitches, and other customer appointments.
- Present forest inventory analysis results to customers and assist in developing forest management plans, including those for Climate Projects.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for forestry-related questions and uncertainties that impact product delivery.
- Develop and optimize operations processes, focusing on forestry knowledge-based topics.
- Ensure forestry knowledge is transparent within the Data Operations Team and across the company, as needed.
- Oversee the quality of delivered products and increments, applying forestry expertise to ensure quality standards are met.
- Pursue quality assurances throughout the processing pipeline, defining quality criteria and ensuring they are met for product deliveries.
- Hold a degree in forestry engineering or management, with extensive practical experience in Forestry Sciences, preferably a PhD in this field.
- possess strong technical expertise in forestry, with a focus on forest management and strategic forest management planning (possibly forest economics).
- Exhibit a senior-level presence in appointments with forestry partners, with experience in customer handover talks desired.
- Have proficient English skills for international customer appointments.
- Ideal prior knowledge in German forest inventory methods and procedures.
- Ideal prior knowledge in forest management practices in the Nordic countries.
