About the Role

The Senior Forestry Specialist is a key functional expert within Ocell GmbH, serving as the primary point of contact for other teams and stakeholders requiring forestry professional expertise. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality of data operations within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor the Forestry Specialist sub-team, providing guidance and support throughout the delivery process of climate projects.
  • Collaborate with the partner management team (Sales) as a technical counterpart, participating in customer handover meetings, climate project sales pitches, and other customer appointments.
  • Present forest inventory analysis results to customers and assist in developing forest management plans, including those for climate projects.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for forestry-related questions and uncertainties affecting product delivery.
  • Develop and continuously optimize operations processes, focusing on forestry knowledge-based topics.
  • Ensure forestry knowledge is transparent within the Data Operations Team and across the company, as required.
  • Oversee the quality of delivered products and increments along the processing pipeline from a forestry expert's perspective.
  • Pursue quality assurances along the processing pipeline, defining quality criteria and ensuring they are met for product deliveries.
Requirements
  • Hold a degree in forestry engineering or management, with extensive practical experience in forestry sciences, preferably a PhD in this field.
  • Exhibit great technical expertise in forestry, with a focus on forest management and strategic forest management planning (possibly forest economics).
  • Display a senior-level presence in appointments with forestry partners, with experience in customer handover talks desired.
  • possess Profound English skills for international customer appointments prepared and held in English.
  • Ideally possess prior knowledge in German forest inventory methods and procedures.
  • Ideally possess prior knowledge in forest management practices in the Nordic countries.
