Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the selection and validation of suppliers based on their capabilities, quality control systems, and compliance with organizational quality standards.
- Provide support to suppliers throughout project stages and during mass production.
- Empower suppliers and enhance their processes to ensure the production of components that meet quality specifications.
- Conduct process validations at supplier facilities.
- Evaluate supplier performance to guarantee adherence to company quality standards, including conducting audits, reviewing quality data, and tracking corrective measures.
- Facilitate supplier development through close collaboration aimed at enhancing quality management systems, processes, and overall performance, as well as working together on quality enhancement initiatives.
- Conduct regular visits to suppliers.
- Address quality issues with suppliers by analyzing defective components, initiating corrective actions, and monitoring their implementation.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure compliance with supplier quality standards and integration into the company’s quality management framework.
- Generate supplier performance reports and evaluations, and maintain a database of lessons learned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechatronics, electrical, electronics) or equivalent education and experience.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes for electrical/electronic assemblies, with required certifications such as IPC-A-610/IPC-J-STD-001 at least at the CIS level.
- Completed ESD training.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in supplier management and/or quality assurance.
- Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), VDA 2, and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) is advantageous.
- Certified Auditor for VDA 6.3.
- Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with standardized quality assurance methodologies and reliability of electrical/electronic products and components (Simulation, CAE, AEC Qxx-series, IPC A-series, Functional Safety ISO HIL/SIL, Automotive Spice, HV specifications) is desirable.
- Understanding of quality management systems, particularly in the automotive sector (IATF 16949).
- Knowledge of problem-solving techniques such as 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa diagrams, Pareto analysis, and Six Sigma.
- Proficient in both German and English.
- Strong negotiation and assertiveness skills when engaging with suppliers.
- Willingness to travel and flexibility (up to 50% of the year).
