Supplier Quality Assurance Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the selection and validation of suppliers based on their operational capabilities, quality control systems, and compliance with corporate quality standards.
- Provide ongoing support to suppliers throughout project phases and during mass production.
- Empower suppliers to ensure the production of components meets quality specifications.
- Conduct process validations at supplier facilities.
- Evaluate supplier performance to guarantee adherence to quality standards, including conducting audits, analyzing quality data, and tracking corrective measures.
- Facilitate supplier development through collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing quality management systems, processes, and overall performance, as well as participating in quality enhancement initiatives.
- Conduct regular visits to suppliers to maintain relationships and monitor quality.
- Address quality issues with suppliers by investigating defective components and initiating corrective actions.
- Work in conjunction with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure compliance with quality requirements and integration into the corporate quality management framework.
- Generate supplier performance reports and maintain a database of lessons learned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechatronics, electrical, electronics) or equivalent qualifications and experience.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes for electrical and electronic assemblies, with certifications such as IPC-A-610/IPC-J-STD-001 (CIS minimum required).
- Completed ESD training.
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience in supplier and/or quality management.
- Proficient in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), VDA 2, and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) is advantageous.
- Certified Auditor VDA 6.3.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of standardized quality assurance methodologies and reliability for electronic products and components is desirable.
- Understanding of quality management systems, particularly in the automotive sector (IATF 16949).
- Familiarity with problem-solving techniques such as 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa diagrams, Pareto analysis, and Six Sigma.
- Fluent in both German and English.
- Strong negotiation and assertiveness skills when interacting with suppliers.
- Willingness to travel, with flexibility to accommodate up to 50% travel time.
