Supplier Quality Engineer-Electronics Specialist

About the Role
Hilite International is seeking a highly skilled Supplier Quality Engineer-Electronics Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our quality assurance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards are met in our electronics supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and qualify suppliers based on their capabilities, quality management systems, and ability to meet our company's quality requirements.
- Manage supplier relationships throughout project phases and serial production.
- Enable suppliers and their processes to manufacture required parts to the correct quality.
- Conduct process audits at suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure our quality requirements are met, including conducting audits, reviewing quality data, and tracking corrective actions.
- Develop suppliers through close collaboration to improve their quality management systems, processes, and performance, and participate in quality improvement projects.
- Regularly visit suppliers.
- Solve quality problems at suppliers by analyzing failure parts, initiating and monitoring corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure our quality requirements are met and suppliers are integrated into our quality management system.
- Prepare supplier reports/evaluations and build a database with lessons learned and read across.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics, or equivalent education and experience.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes for electrical/electronic assemblies. IPC-A-610 / IPC-J-STD-001, required certification minimum CIS.
- ESD training.
- Relevant experience in supplier management and/or quality management (at least 2 years).
- Good knowledge in the areas of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and VDA 2, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) is an advantage.
- Certified auditor VDA 6.3.
- Understanding and interpretation of technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of the methodology for standardized securing of quality and reliability of E/E products and components (simulation, CAE, AEC Qxx series, IPC A-series, functional safety ISO 26262 (HIL/SIL), Automotive Spice, and HV specifications) is desirable.
- Knowledge of quality management systems in general and preferably in the automotive sector (IATF 16949).
- Knowledge of problem-solving methods such as 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, Pareto analysis, Six Sigma.
- Excellent German and English skills in writing and speaking.
- Assertiveness and negotiation skills when dealing with suppliers.
- Flexibility and mobility (up to 50% of the year).
