About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Group Category Manager - Commodities - Timber to join our team. As a key member of our STARK Sourcing organization, you will be responsible for all sourcing activities in STARK Deutschland. Your expertise will be crucial in delivering the right products at the right price to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a group category strategy for the Timber & Panels category, including a European Sourcing Strategy.
- Collaborate with Business Units to design an attractive Group offering in the category.
- Drive and manage European activities with European suppliers, ensuring successful execution.
- Establish a structured meeting framework with key suppliers/partners to foster strong relationships and effective communication.
- Define and agree upon campaigns and marketing activities in coordination with Category teams in the business units.
- Act as a point of contact for suppliers joining the European Supplier Program.
- Align, coordinate, and lead the decision-making processes for European assortment activities.
- Undertake and oversee digitalisation projects in cooperation with European supplier/partners.
- A newly established role in a large and further internationally expanding company with the opportunity to influence and add true value.
- Closeness to top management and decision making.

- Strong relationship management and networking skills, as well as excellent communication skills.
- Prior experience in category management, industry experience is considered a plus but not a must.
- Strong strategic mindset.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to assimilate information.
- Resilient and able to constructively challenge and influence at a senior level.
- Knowledge of and/or interest in sustainability.
- Drive and curiosity, are proactive, innovative and an initiator.
- Comfortable in working in English (corporate language).
