About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud-Native Software Engineer to join our team at BASF Digital Solutions GmbH. As a key member of our product team, you will be responsible for architecting and developing cutting-edge cloud-native applications using popular open source projects and established best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable and reliable cloud-native applications using software development, container orchestration, and infrastructure automation.
  • Develop modern cloud-native applications based on popular open source projects and established best practices.
  • Implement advanced DevOps approaches, designing and operating cloud-native applications using Kubernetes, Helm, Kustomize, REST, and gRPC.
  • Set up and maintain databases, with a focus on PostgreSQL, using operators on Kubernetes or cloud-provider specific services.
  • Design data models in databases and implement data storage solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions compliant with cloud-native standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Engineering, Physics, or a comparable field.
  • Minimum 5 years of related working experience in agile environments.
  • Deep understanding of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) ecosystem and distributed system design.
  • Advanced skills in at least one backend development programming language, such as C#, Go, C++, or Rust.
  • Experience in industrial production and operational technology is a plus.
  • Fluent English skills and a strong drive to acquire new skills and learn about new technologies.
