Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Electro-Functional Systems Engineer to lead our Payload Projects, including coordinating and leading a project team of related engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Electro-Functional Systems Engineering, with experience in design, development, and verification activities for space projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Electro-Functional Systems Engineering for Payload Projects, including coordinating and leading a project team of related engineers.
  • Define instrument requirements related to Electro-Functional technical disciplines and challenge the compliance of design solutions.
  • Elaborate, develop, and accommodate Electro-Functional design baseline solutions on the basis of customer requirements and budgets.
  • Define and maintain all instrument Electro-Functional budgets, ensuring they remain within allocated requirements.
  • Perform technical management of subcontracts in the assigned technical area.
  • Support the evaluation and management of deviations and non-conformances.
  • Collaborate with System technical management and other Systems Engineering disciplines.

Requirements

  • University or polytechnic degree or PhD in Physics or Engineering, ideally in one of the areas of Systems Engineering with focus on one or more of the Electro-Functional disciplines.
  • At least five to ten years of professional experience in design, development, and verification activities for space projects, preferably for payload projects in the Electro-Functional area.
  • Organized and structured task approach, high degree of motivation.
  • Ability to lead and guide a project-related Electro-Functional engineering team in combination with technical leadership capability.
  • Deep understanding of the system (from the electro-functional point of view) and ability to lead system and unit-level verification activities.
  • Strong focus on reaching progress by thinking and communicating in terms of solutions, and the ability to reach goals under schedule pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, combined with the ability to work in international and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Fluent in English in reading and writing, German skills are a plus.
