Senior Electro-Functional Systems Engineer (m/f/d)

Your Tasks

Responsible for Electro-Functional Systems Engineering Lead for Payload Projects, including coordinating and leading a project team of related engineers:
Creation of related engineering work packages and follow-up over project durationDefine instrument requirements related to Electro-Functional technical disciplines and challenge the compliance of the design solutionsElaboration, development and accommodation of Electro-Functional design baseline solutions on the basis of customer requirements and budgetsDefine and maintain all instrument Electro-Functional budgets, and to ensure these budgets remain within allocated requirementsEnsure proper flow-down and allocation of lower level sub-system requirements and budgets and maintain them up to date during the program lifetimeResponsible for the definition and specification of internal and external interfaces including margins and associated documentationPerform technical management of subcontracts in the assigned technical area Support the evaluation and management of deviations and non-conformances o Support implementation of agreed changes to the design and deliverablesCollaboration with System technical management and other Systems Engineering disciplines Electro-functional Systems Engineering Technical Lead for institutional and commercial proposals Electro-functional Systems Engineering Lead of the OHB Payload Support Team for example in the Project PLATO:
Functional testing of the Payload o Support the functional activities of the payload Digital Processing Subsystem (DPS)EM Test Bench Support (temporary collocated at DLR Berlin premises), including preparation of payload functional test specifications and contributions to TRRs and TRBsFunctional Validation and Verification Control Board (including preparation and management of the VCDs for the DPS) Support to DPS functional activities in the scope of specification, development, production and verification of the On-Board Control Procedures (OBCP)

Your Qualifications

University / polytechnic degree or PhD in Physics or Engineering, ideally in one of the areas of Systems Engineering with focus on one or more of the Electro-Functional disciplines At least five to ten years of professional experience in design, development and verification activities for space projects, preferably for payload projects in the Electro-Functional area Organized and structured task approach, high degree of motivation Ability to lead and guide a project related Electro-Functional engineering team in combination with technical leadership capability Deep understanding of the system (from the electro-functional point of view) and ability to lead system and unit-level verification activities Strong focus on reaching progress by thinking and communicating in terms of solutions, and the ability of reaching goals under schedule pressure Excellent communication skills, combined with the ability to work in international and multi-disciplinary teams Fluent in English in reading and writing, German skills are a plus
