Master Thesis in Autonomous Navigation

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled master's student to contribute to our research project on autonomous navigation in outdoor environments. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and develop innovative solutions for real-world applications.
Project OverviewOur research focuses on the development of autonomous navigation solutions for outdoor applications, such as agriculture and forestry. We are looking for a master's student to contribute to the development of a data fusion algorithm for traversability analysis. This algorithm will enable our robots to navigate safely and efficiently in complex outdoor environments.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement a data fusion algorithm for traversability analysis
- Evaluate existing approaches and derive a novel concept for combining multiple traversability information sources
- Implement the algorithm using ROS in C++
- Test and evaluate the performance of the algorithm on our outdoor robot CURTmini
- Background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar
- Proficient in C++ and ROS
- Experience with algorithm development and analytical mindset
- Enthusiasm for mobile robotics and outdoor navigation
- Fluent in English or German
- Cutting-edge technology and innovative research opportunities
- Hands-on experience with our robots on our own test fields in Stuttgart
