Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled researcher to join our team at Robert Bosch Krankenhaus GmbH. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a Master Thesis Project focused on investigating epigenetic mechanisms controlling pancreatic tumor cell identity and therapy response.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize modern sequencing-based molecular biology approaches to test hypotheses and examine epigenetic and gene regulatory mechanisms.
  • Perform bioinformatic analysis and interpretation of data, followed by hypothesis testing and generation.
  • Conduct multiplex immunofluorescence staining to confirm gene regulatory mechanisms in primary tumor tissue using multispectral imaging.
  • Prepare histological samples for single cell RNA-sequencing using the 10X Genomics technology.
  • Perform advanced cell culture experiments to examine the effects of drug treatment in various translational model systems.
  • Participate in internal or external research collaborations.
  • Document work procedures, data acquisition, and analyses.
Requirements:
  • Strong work ethic and high level of self-motivation.
  • Enrollment in an accredited Master of Science program in a related field (biology, molecular biology, molecular medicine, or similar).
  • Basic experience with cell culture, transfections, etc.
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques (real-time PCR, Western blot, etc.).
  • Strong interest in learning and gaining proficiency in bioinformatic analyses.
  • Independent, goal-oriented, and structured way of working, with ability to work in a team.
  • Confident written and spoken English skills.
  • Dedication to making a difference in the lives of cancer patients through innovative and impactful research.
