Master Thesis in Autonomous Navigation

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled master's student to contribute to the development of autonomous navigation solutions for outdoor applications. In this role, you will work on the development and implementation of a data fusion algorithm for traversability analysis, which is a critical component of autonomous navigation systems.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a data fusion algorithm for traversability analysis
- Evaluate existing approaches and derive a novel concept for combining multiple traversability information sources
- Implement the algorithm using ROS in C++
- Test and evaluate the performance of the algorithm on our outdoor robot CURTmini
- Background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
- Profound knowledge of C++ and ROS
- Experience with algorithm development and analytical mindset
- Enthusiasm for mobile robotics and autonomous systems
- Fluent in English or German
- Cutting-edge technology in the field of outdoor mobile robotics
- Hands-on experience with our robots on our own test fields in Stuttgart
