Team Overview
The Chief Risk Office (CRO) at DWS operates as an independent entity, safeguarding the organization from excessive losses while serving as a trusted advisor to facilitate sustainable business growth. Within the CRO, the Financial Risk Management team focuses on the risks associated with DWS as a publicly traded entity. This includes investments in alternative and liquid assets, credit and counterparty exposures, as well as liquidity, foreign exchange, guarantees, pensions, and compensation-related risks. The team also identifies and evaluates emerging risks in close collaboration with our global Macro Research team.
We are a compact team with a global perspective, and our decisions directly influence DWS Group's risk profile. We seek a qualified candidate who possesses the skills and motivation to manage risk positions and oversee corresponding hedging strategies within our global risk framework and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
As a Risk Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Identifying, assessing, and monitoring equity, credit, and foreign exchange market risks stemming from DWS's balance sheet positions, along with related hedging strategies and underlying risk factors.
- Facilitating decision-making and approvals concerning these risks.
- Collaborating with senior stakeholders in business and finance to ensure an effective risk management process.
- Developing robust stress tests and risk scenarios in partnership with analysts and experts within DWS.
- Establishing and enhancing an appropriate risk and control framework for the relevant risk categories.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- Several years of hands-on experience in analyzing equity, credit, or foreign exchange market risks.
- Strong quantitative abilities in applying statistical and financial models to diverse datasets and interpreting results meaningfully.
- In-depth knowledge of investment products and familiarity with balance sheet analysis.
- A university degree in Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.
- A curious intellect and a desire to make a significant impact.
- The capability to meet deadlines effectively.
