Team/Division Overview
The Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM) team at DWS is a crucial component of the Chief Risk Office within the CFO division.
The Chief Risk Office serves as an independent control function, distinct from the Front Office, tasked with managing financial, non-financial, and investment risks for DWS Group and its subsidiaries.
DWS NFRM operates as a second line of defense (2LoD) Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function, currently focused on:
- Establishing and maintaining the Non-Financial Risk Management Policy and Implementation Procedures, forming the Operational Risk Management Framework and Reputational Risk Management Framework, ensuring adherence by first and second line functions.
- Acting as the NFRM Coverage, with regional teams (EMEA, USA, APAC) serving as NFRM Coverage and Risk Type Controllers as outlined in the Operational Risk Management Framework.
As a Senior Risk Manager, you will be an integral part of the NFRM team in Europe, reporting to the global Head of NFRM. This role will position you as the global lead specialist for Information Technology Risk Management within the Non-Financial Risk Management framework, collaborating with representatives from three lines of defense.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Develop minimum standards for managing information technology risk across the global organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Create requirements for a new IT Risk Management Policy, in consultation with relevant control functions.
- Establish qualitative and quantitative measures to enhance the Risk Appetite Statement related to IT risk.
- Collaborate with IT and Information Security colleagues to produce and disseminate training on associated policies and controls.
- Support the execution of organizational and NFRM priorities, including risk assessments, risk appetite monitoring, and transformation activities related to IT risk.
- Engage with DB Group NFRM and Data Management functions to share information and ensure alignment with requirements.
- Assist NFRM colleagues in addressing regulatory and ad hoc initiatives related to IT risk management.
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates with:
- A university degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Natural Sciences, or a related field.
- Over 8 years of experience in operational risk management or front office IT risk management, preferably in the finance sector, consulting, or IT audit.
- Familiarity with relevant industry and regulatory assessment frameworks and standards.
- Professional certifications such as Lead Auditor or Non-Financial Risk Management are advantageous.
- A solid understanding of risk management principles and experience with MaRisk requirements.
- Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in German is preferred.
- Exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships within the organization.
- Knowledge of industry-standard risk management applications is highly preferred.
