Senior Research Scientist for Environmental Microbiology

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Scientist to join our team at Universität Hamburg. As a member of our research group, you will be involved in a collaborative project focused on understanding the impacts of environmental stressors on microbial communities.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this position is approximately €48,000 - €55,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits including continuing education opportunities, university pensions, and attractive location.
Job DescriptionYour primary responsibilities will include developing and implementing process-based ecological modeling approaches to simulate the impacts of different environmental factors on microbial community composition. You will work closely with other researchers to integrate experimental data into the model and predict abundances of potential pathogens relevant to human health.
You will have the opportunity to represent the functional diversity of microbial communities in the model and simulate the effects of stressors on shifts in community composition. The successful candidate will have advanced knowledge and experience in at least two of the following research disciplines: ecology, biogeochemistry, soil science, and microbiology.
Required Skills and Qualifications- A university degree in a relevant field, such as ecology, biology, or microbiology
