Job Title: Research Associate for the MOMOBIO-2 Project

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join our team at the Universität Hamburg. The successful candidate will work on the MOMOBIO-2 project, which aims to develop detailed data sets and models to track and predict the urban microbiota and changes in its biodiversity and resistance profile.

Responsibilities:
  • Represent the functional diversity of microbial communities in a process-based ecological modeling approach
  • Simulate the impacts of different environmental factors on shifts in community composition
  • Develop and apply models to predict abundances of potential pathogens relevant for human health
Requirements:
  • University degree in a relevant field, such as Ecology, Biology, or Microbiology
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in at least two of the following research disciplines: Ecology, biogeochemistry, soil science, microbiology
  • Advanced and proven skills in numerical modeling and scientific writing
