About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Scientist to join our team at Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) as part of our prestigious professorship program.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will hold a Scholarship Title: Universitätsprofessur (all genders), and be responsible for leading cutting-edge research in AI applications for diagnostic radiology. This role offers a unique opportunity to advance your career while collaborating with top researchers, clinicians, and industry partners.
Responsibilities
- Leverage artificial intelligence methods to improve diagnostic accuracy and efficiency in radiology, including nuclear medicine procedures and interventional radiology.
- Develop innovative methods and tools for automated quantitative image data analysis, driving breakthroughs in AI-supported computer science and applied radiology science.
- Promote networking and collaboration between academia and industry through joint development and support of infrastructure for research with radiological data.
- Strengthen partnerships between the Faculty of Medicine, University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, and Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Medicine MEVIS.
- Develop strategic collaborations with science and industry, fostering innovative solutions and technologies.
- Contribute to teaching commitments according to the Teaching Obligation Regulation for Hamburg Institutions of Higher Education (LVVO).
- Ensure eligibility requirements in accordance with Section 15 of the Hamburg Higher Education Act (HmbHG), including a degree and/or doctorate in health informatics or a related field, and proof of postdoctoral teaching qualification or equivalent achievement.
- Lead research in applied AI healthcare, focusing on outstanding publications in AI applications for clinical radiology, such as cardiovascular and quantitative metabolic diagnostics.
- Foster collaboration and knowledge transfer between university and non-university research institutions.
- Establish strong connections with public funding organizations and secure research grants.

Requirements
- Ph.D. in Health Informatics or a related field, with a strong background in AI research and applications.

- Strong network and collaboration skills, with the ability to foster partnerships between academia and industry.
