Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation of current and future European and country-specific sustainability legislation in biomass procurement and trading projects with a commercial perspective.
  • Ensure compliance and monitoring of biomass safety regulations according to European and country-specific laws.
  • Participate in project teams, providing strategic and commercial support regarding biomass sustainability requirements in Uniper's initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with domestic and European internal and external experts and consultants on legislation and regulations to keep Uniper's biomass-related projects and procurement activities up to date.
  • Responsible for regular informational sessions and meetings, as well as reports on the current status and anticipated changes in legislation and regulations.
  • Work alongside traders, deal execution, and middle-office colleagues to manage certification and supply chain requirements.
  • Represent Uniper at (inter)national biomass forums and business events.

Your Profile

  • Over 5 years of experience and knowledge in regulations and sustainable aspects at central and/or local levels.
  • Extensive experience with certification systems and processes such as FSC, SBP, PEFC, etc.
  • A well-established network of knowledge consultants and lobbying organizations in the field of regulation and sustainability.
  • Excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and maintain effective working relationships with Uniper and third-party teams.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, including effective prioritization and resource management with a long-term strategic focus.
