Role Overview

As a **Senior Product Safety Engineer** at ICE Engineering Services GmbH, you will take on the critical responsibility of conducting comprehensive safety analyses for both systems and aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Independently execute and verify safety calculations and documentation, ensuring compliance from the initial design phase through to entry into service.
  • Produce essential certification and safety of flight documentation for various aircraft programs, including legacy and future projects.
  • Utilize your extensive knowledge of aircraft systems, including but not limited to flight controls, avionics, and hydraulic systems.
  • Demonstrate expertise in safety standards and methodologies such as ARP4754, ARP4761, and FMEA.
  • Define safety requirements within the broader context of aircraft system integration.
  • Facilitate and lead technical meetings with cross-functional teams to address and resolve safety concerns efficiently.
  • Provide expert certification knowledge in compliance with CS25 and CS29 regulations.
Qualifications

To be successful in this position, you should possess:

  • A Master's Degree in aviation or a related field.
  • Over 15 years of experience in aircraft safety within leading OEMs or consulting firms.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in signing safety certification documents.
  • At least 5 years of experience in senior safety engineering roles within OEM safety teams.
  • Proven experience in signing safety of flight documents for flight test vehicles.

Training Capabilities:

You will also be capable of training personnel in:

  • Safety analysis tools (e.g., CAFTA)
  • Verification and validation tools (e.g., DOORS)
  • Design software (e.g., CATIA V5)
  • Safety standards (ARP 4754 & 4761)
  • Design Assurance Levels (DAL)
  • Software and hardware development standards (DO-178B and DO-254)
  • Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS)
  • Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)

Personal Attributes:

We seek a candidate with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, who can work autonomously and communicate effectively. Proficiency in English is essential, and knowledge of German is advantageous.
