Role Overview

As a Senior Product Safety Engineer at ICE Engineering Services GmbH, you will take on a pivotal role in executing comprehensive safety assessments for aviation systems and aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will:

  • Independently conduct and validate safety assessments and documentation necessary for the certification of aircraft, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Generate and oversee the creation of essential certification and safety of flight documentation for both existing and upcoming aviation projects.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of aircraft systems integration, including but not limited to flight controls, avionics, engines, hydraulics, landing gear, and electrical wiring interconnection systems (EWIS).
  • Apply expertise in safety standards such as ARP4754, ARP4761, PRA, and Zonal Safety Analysis to ensure thorough safety evaluations.
  • Lead and facilitate technical integration discussions with cross-functional teams to address and resolve safety-related challenges.
  • Demonstrate in-depth understanding of certification requirements under CS25 and CS29, ideally having experience as a Safety Certification Verification Engineer (CVE) or equivalent.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A Master's Degree in aviation or a related field.
  • Over 15 years of experience in aircraft safety within leading Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) or consulting roles.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in signing safety certification documents.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Senior Safety Engineer within OEM safety teams.
  • Experience in signing safety of flight documents for flight test vehicles for a minimum of 5 years.

Additional Skills:

  • Proficiency in safety analysis tools (e.g., CAFTA) and verification & validation tools (e.g., DOORS).
  • Familiarity with design software such as CATIA V5.
  • Knowledge of ARP 4754 & 4761, DAL Allocations, DO-178B, and DO-254.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with effective communication skills.
  • Excellent command of English, with German language skills considered an advantage.
