Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Product Safety Engineer at ICE Engineering Services GmbH, you will autonomously conduct comprehensive safety assessments for aviation systems and aircraft.

Your role will encompass the creation of essential certification and safety documentation for various programs, including:

  • Demonstrated expertise in independently producing and evaluating safety calculations and documentation, covering safety of flight and certification processes across different OEMs from the initial design phase to operational readiness.
  • In-depth technical understanding of aircraft systems and integration, including but not limited to flight control, avionics, propulsion, hydraulic systems, landing gear, braking systems, and electrical wiring interconnection systems (EWIS).
  • Proficiency in industry standards such as ARP4754, ARP4761, PRA, Zonal Safety Analysis, CCMR, AFHA, SFHA, PASA, PSSA, SSA, Safety of Flight, FRACAS, FMEA, FMECA, and DAL Allocations.
  • Formulating safety requirements within the broader context of aircraft integration and system interconnectivity.
  • Leading and facilitating extensive technical integration discussions with key stakeholders from various aircraft systems, flight dynamics, and structural engineering teams to address safety concerns promptly.
  • Extensive certification knowledge of CS25 and CS29; ideal candidates will have experience as a Safety Certification Verification Engineer (CVE) or equivalent.
Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in aviation or a related field.
  • Over 15 years of experience in aircraft safety within leading OEMs, suppliers, or consulting roles.
  • At least 10 years of experience in signing safety certification documents.
  • Minimum of 5 years in senior safety engineering roles within OEM safety teams.
  • At least 5 years of experience in signing safety of flight documentation for flight test vehicles.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to train staff in safety methodologies and tools (e.g., CAFTA or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with verification and validation tools (e.g., DOORS or equivalent).
  • Proficient in design software (e.g., CATIA V5).
  • Knowledge of ARP 4754 & 4761 standards.
  • Understanding of DAL Allocations.
  • Experience with DO-178B and DO-254 standards.
  • Knowledge of FRACAS and FME(C) A methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English; proficiency in German is an advantage.
