Global EHS Manager

Novelis is seeking a highly skilled Global EHS Manager to join our team. As a key member of our EHS department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing global EHS training programs, assessing employee competence levels, and providing coaching to line management.
Responsibilities:- Develop and lead the Global School of EHS, including EHS Training & Development Programs, in partnership with the HR Global learning team and other relevant stakeholders.
- Assess competence levels of employees related to EHS.
- Define EHS learning & development objectives.
- Deliver training to different levels of the organization and measuring effectiveness.
- Act as a Strategic Partner with the regions and global EHS staff.
- Provide coaching to line management related to Key initiatives, Line Accountability and Reports.
- Provide specific subject matter expertise, consulting and leadership for specific EHS program design and implementation.
- Actively participate in audit programs and EHS Management System Audits, Advocacy visits at a global scale.
- Active participation in the Novelis EHS Council and regional EHS networking meetings.
- Bachelor's degree in an EHS program or related discipline.
- Minimum 10-15 years of combined experience balanced in the occupational health and safety fields.
- Experience in training, learning and development in a multiple location environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Europe's EHS related regulations.
- Experience with Work Council.
- Experience in large, multi-national industrial manufacturing corporations.
- Proven ability to work independently as well as lead/participate on teams and work in a matrix environment.
- Proven experience as a self-starter, who effectively manages multiple tasks, achieves results with minimal supervision and possesses excellent documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Creativity, Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Ability to Influence, Persistence, Practicality, Ability to Communicate to all Levels and cultures, Enthusiasm/Passion.
- Ability to understand customers need both internal and external and translate that understanding into action.
- Ability to work and achieve success in a matrix environment keeping key stakeholders informed and engaged.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Travel requirement: 50 – 60%, mostly in Europe and a few times to other regions/locations.
- German native speaker and strong English communication skills.
