About the Position



We are looking for a highly committed individual with leadership experience to join our team as Head of Product Data Management in Rolling Stock Engineering.



As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for the end-to-end product data management process, ensuring efficient and smooth data management, and maintaining data consistency.



You will work closely with internal and external partners, such as manufacturing, purchasing, logistics, and customers, to identify synergy and optimization potentials in the handling of engineering data and provision for parties in the Product Live Cycle process (PLM).



Key responsibilities include:




  • Managing the engineering department with employees in Erlangen and Krefeld, as well as European locations (e.g. Prague) for the topics of product data management.
  • Providing consulting, problem-solving, and information exchange on PLM tool-related issues within the engineering department.
  • Driving the strategic further development of the tool and process landscape across organizations in Engineering and with SMO IT, and implementing changes in the respective user areas in a targeted manner.
  • Implementing the PLM tool Teamcenter for SMO Rolling Stock Engineering in terms of product data management.
  • Representing the interests of stakeholders in engineering, ensuring process and method requirements in the IT project during tool development, and monitoring the fulfillment and implementation of these requirements.


About You



We are looking for a highly qualified individual with a master's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or industrial engineering and many years of professional experience in engineering or the development of complex products such as rail vehicles, aero, ship, or plant engineering.



You should have knowledge and experience in PLM tools and processes, ideally in Teamcenter, and be familiar with interfaces between IT, development, and production.



As a leader, you should inspire and encourage employees and have initial experience as a disciplinary manager.
