Are you looking for a challenging role in the insurance sector? We have an exciting opportunity for a Underwriter for Latin American Markets at our headquarters in Hannover, Germany.

About the Role

  • Analyse reinsurance inquiries from our customers, including risk assessment and preparation of quotations and underwriting decisions.
  • Cultivate, grow and build viable customer relationships in the Latin American region.
  • Monitor primary and reinsurance markets in the supported region and contribute to the compilation and evaluation of portfolio and product analyses.
  • Balance sheet and KPI analyses for the development of customer-specific reinsurance solutions.
  • Create, check and modify contract documents as well as handle their administration.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in finance or economics with quantitative majors or in (business) mathematics.
  • Initial experience in the insurance sector, e.g. in providing support for commercial customers or in the actuarial office.
  • Connection to Latin America and experience gained locally, ideally in the financial sector.
  • Knowledge of the latest IT tools and statistical methods of data analysis.
  • Native speaker command of Spanish or Portuguese, proficient user skills in English and independent user skills in German, as well as strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel worldwide on business, roughly three or four times a year.
  • Considerable capacity for analytical thinking, a solution-driven working approach and a high level of commitment.
