Mathematician Underwriter

At Hannover Re, we are seeking a highly skilled Mathematician Underwriter to join our Advanced Solutions team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the entire reinsurance placement process, from sourcing business to pricing and final decision-making.

Main Responsibilities:

• Source and evaluate requests for structured reinsurance concepts and create tailor-made solutions for insurance customers.
• Manage and renew existing reinsurance contracts, planning, steering, controlling, and coordinating business data in accordance with defined quality standards.
• Conduct actuarial analyses and projections to manage the profitability of reinsurance contracts.
• Cultivate contacts with existing and new business partners, meeting them personally on a regular basis.
• Collaborate with colleagues in underwriting departments and service departments, such as actuarial, accounting, and natural catastrophe modeling.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in mathematics or a related field.
• Interest in actuarial and economic issues.
• Practical experience in the insurance or financial sector is advantageous.
• High degree of independence and flexibility.
• English at a business fluent level and German at a conversational level.
• Willingness to travel worldwide, approximately five to six times a year.
• Analytical and solution-oriented thinking, as well as strong communication skills.
