At Hannover Re, we are seeking a highly skilled Mathematician Underwriter to join our Advanced Solutions team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the entire reinsurance placement process, from sourcing business to pricing and final decision-making.
Main Responsibilities:
- Source and evaluate requests for structured reinsurance concepts and create tailor-made solutions for insurance customers.
- Manage and renew existing reinsurance contracts, planning, steering, controlling, and coordinating business data in accordance with defined quality standards.
- Conduct actuarial analyses and projections to manage the profitability of reinsurance contracts.
- Cultivate contacts with existing and new business partners, meeting them personally on a regular basis.
- Collaborate with colleagues in underwriting departments and service departments, such as actuarial, accounting, and natural catastrophe modeling.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in mathematics or a related field.
- Interest in actuarial and economic issues.
- Practical experience in the insurance or financial sector is advantageous.
- High degree of independence and flexibility.
- English at a business fluent level and German at a conversational level.
- Willingness to travel worldwide, approximately five to six times a year.
- Analytical and solution-oriented thinking, as well as strong communication skills.
