Lead Accountant for General Ledger Operations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Executing financial entries and regular postings.
  • Overseeing the monthly closing procedures, including account reconciliations, internal reconciliations, reclassifications, and the reconciliation of circulating accounts.
  • Preparing and recording accruals and provisions.
  • Conducting closing activities related to fixed assets, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of asset master data and assets under construction.
  • Generating both ad hoc and regular reports, including statistical analyses and monthly/annual reporting packages.
  • Managing the reconciliation of bank accounts.
  • Facilitating intercompany netting processes.
  • Enhancing process documentation.
  • Supporting the onboarding of new team members and promoting knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a comparable qualification in Accounting.
  • Extensive accounting experience, particularly in general ledger, fixed assets, accruals, and provisions accounting, ideally within an international framework.
  • Thorough understanding of general ledger and fixed assets accounting, including VAT regulations.
  • Initial professional experience with SAP FI.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, especially MS Outlook and Excel.
  • Prior involvement in accounting projects.
  • Excellent communication skills coupled with a proactive and collaborative approach.
  • Strong sense of accountability and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Able to work effectively in a team and adapt to diverse corporate and cultural environments.
  • Fluency in English and at least one additional European language (preferably Spanish, Portuguese, French, or German).
