Romanian-Focused General Ledger Accountant

We are currently seeking a General Ledger Accountant with a focus on Romania (m/f/d) for our Shared Service Center at KWS Berlin GmbH. This role is essential to the financial operations of KWS globally, collaborating closely with the Expert Hub and various teams. The position encompasses a range of transactional and knowledge-based general ledger functions, including: general ledger entries, accrual accounting, intercompany transactions, asset management, and group accounting. This is a full-time and permanent position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and reconcile open intercompany transactions and perform intercompany consolidation.
- Prepare financial reports and conduct local closing in accordance with IFRS and LOCAL-GAAP standards.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Oversee all quarter-end closing activities to guarantee timely and accurate financial reporting, including posting of petty cash, HR accruals, salaries, and depreciation assets, as well as handling IFRS 16 and 9 and deferred taxes.
- Engage in operational tasks across all General Ledger areas related to monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
Candidate Profile:
- A degree in Business Administration, Certified Accountant, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in Romanian accounting practices and preferably IFRS.
- Proficiency in relevant IT systems, including MS Office and ERP software.
- Fluent in both English and Romanian.
- Strong ability to meet tight deadlines and manage high-volume transactions effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with a collaborative and team-oriented approach.
- Strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and a commitment to exceptional service.
