Lead Accountant for General Ledger Operations

By utilizing our reusable packaging containers (RPCs), we enhance food safety during transport, minimize food waste, and extend product longevity. Our commitment to reducing packaging materials contributes to a lower carbon footprint.
Key Responsibilities:
- Executing financial transactions and routine postings.
- Overseeing the monthly closing cycle, including account reconciliations, internal reconciliations, reclassifications, and managing circulating accounts.
- Preparing and recording accruals and provisions.
- Conducting closing processes for fixed assets, ensuring accuracy in subledger reconciliations, depreciation, and settlements; accountable for the integrity of fixed asset master data and ongoing projects.
- Generating both ad hoc and regular financial reports, including statistical analyses and comprehensive monthly/annual report packages.
- Managing reconciliations of bank accounts.
- Facilitating intercompany netting processes.
- Enhancing process documentation for improved clarity.
- Supporting the onboarding of new team members and sharing knowledge across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field in Accounting.
- Several years of relevant accounting experience, particularly in general ledger, fixed assets, accruals, and provisions, ideally within an international environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of general ledger and fixed asset accounting, including VAT regulations.
- Initial professional experience with SAP FI is advantageous.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, especially MS Outlook and Excel.
- Previous involvement in accounting projects is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with a proactive and collaborative approach.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accountability.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to diverse company and cultural environments.
- Fluency in English and proficiency in at least one additional European language (preferably Spanish, Portuguese, French, or German).
