We are currently seeking a General Ledger Accountant with a focus on Romania (m/f/d) for our Shared Service Center. This role is integral to KWS's global financial operations, collaborating closely with the Expert Hub and various teams. The General Ledger Accountant will manage all transactional and knowledge-based general ledger functions, including general ledger entries, accrual accounting, intercompany transactions, asset accounting, and group accounting. This position is full-time and permanent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and reconcile open intercompany transactions and perform intercompany reconsolidation.
  • Prepare financial statements and conduct local closings in accordance with IFRS and LOCAL-GAAP.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Oversee all activities related to quarterly closings, ensuring timely and accurate financial statement delivery, including posting of petty cash, HR accruals, salaries, depreciation assets, IFRS 16 and 9, and deferred taxes.
  • Engage in operational activities across all General Ledger areas concerning monthly, quarterly, and yearly closings.

Candidate Profile:

  • Academic qualifications in Business Administration, Certified Accountant, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in Romanian accounting practices, preferably with knowledge of IFRS.
  • Proficiency in relevant IT systems, including MS Office and ERP software.
  • Fluent in both English and Romanian.
  • Capable of meeting tight deadlines and managing high-volume transactions effectively.
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative and team-oriented approach.
  • Possess analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and a commitment to exceptional service.
